This is what the ancient yogis taught their students, especially the “householders”, the ones who maintained a home based yoga practice while supporting and raising a family.

The yoga classes of Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, and Bikram traditions typically focus on an overall general workout for the body, mind and spirit. Some only do the same set of traditional poses in a specific sequence for that generic balancing and strengthening that will serve everyone, which is fine if that is what you want out of your yoga practice.

What are the Ten Spiritual Bodies and Yogic Numerology?

Most human beings only identify with their physical body and their mind.

The truth is that the human being is made up of ten spiritual bodies: the physical body, three mental bodies, and six energy bodies.

The Ten Spiritual Bodies are powerful capacities of the psyche.

Each body has specific gifts that manifest when strong, and certain deficit tendencies that surface when weak.

Your caliber is determined by the balance of your Ten Spiritual Bodies.

The Ten Spiritual Bodies are:

  1. Soul Body
  2. Negative Mind
  3. Positive Mind
  4. Neutral Mind
  5. Physical Body
  6. Arc Line
  7. Auric Body
  8. Pranic Body
  9. Subtle Body
  10. Radiant Body.

You can strengthen any of the Ten Spiritual Bodies by practicing a specific yoga kriya and meditation to empower that particular body.

The fantastic part is using Yogic Numerology, which is based on the Ten Spiritual Bodies, to find which body relates to your soul, which body represents what you need to master to resolve your karma, and what body resonates with your path or destiny.

The Yogic Numerology is actually very simple, your day of birth gives you all the information needed to determine which bodies function in what role in your life.

An Example of How Yogic Numerology Works.

Confused, let me use myself as an example. I was born on May 7. In this numerology system the day of our birth is our Soul Number, the month is our Mastery Number. The day of my birth is a 7 which is represented by the 7th Body, the Aura, and May is the fifth month of the year, so it is a 5, the Physical Body. The Soul Number is your particular Spiritual Body that represents your link to your soul, your inner self, the Creator within you. For me to feel inner peace and connected to the Universe my Auric Body must be bright and strong. There are yoga kriyas I do every day that work on the aura, and I wear white cotton clothing which strengthens my auric projection. I am consciously aware that my aura is my souls projection and connection and I work to maintain that vibration.

The Mastery Number, the Physical Body, is what I need to work on during this life. Yogi Bhajan referred to it as your “homework assignment from God.” This is considered a challenge position in the Yogic Numerology system. To prevent deficit tendencies that surface when a Spiritual Body is weak, I need to maintain an active, healthy, and vibrant Physical Body so I can overcome life’s challenges. If my Physical Body is weak, I could become lazy, overweight, sickly, and lack the inner drive needed to stay ahead in life. So it is very important to me to keep up with my Kundalini Yoga practice, eat a healthy diet, and to stay active by hiking, skiing, and exercising my body.

That is a very brief and simple example of what Yogic Numerology can show us. Through the teachings of Yogi Bhajan there is a vast source of detailed information on each Spiritual Body and how they can relate to all of the 27 calculations. Using your complete birthday; day, month and year, we have access to finding which Spiritual Body relates to your life’s Gift Number, what you are naturally good at; or your Path Number, helping you see how to find fulfillment; and which Spiritual Body resonates with your Heart giving you great insight and awareness regarding romantic relationships.

What is a Personal Kundalini Yoga Consultation?

It is similar to a private yoga class with the additional depth and detail of using Kundalini Yoga, the 10 Spiritual Bodies and Yogic Numerology to give you a personal yoga practice program to continue after the consultation. Before we meet for the consultation I will take your birthday and calculate the numbers to determine which Spiritual Body relates to what position. When we meet I will have a written explanation of your Yogic Numerology chart ready for you to review and take home with you. We will discuss your goals and what you wish to accomplish. Together we determine the best path to achieving those goals through your yoga practice. Some factors include how much experience in yoga you have; how much time can you commit to this practice; and any physical limitations that would prevent you from doing some postures or exercises. There are specific Kundalini Yoga kriyas and meditations that address each of these 10 Spiritual Bodies, and we will find the ones that will fit into your desired program and lifestyle. Then I will teach you the kriya and meditation so you can learn and experience the program we designed for you. I will give you the detailed explanations and sequences to take home with you. Additional follow-up time is allowed to answer any questions that may arise after you have left and practiced this on your own.
